Minors who are the children of aliens holding no residence permit are afforded free access to health care services at no cost, as is the case for all minors, without such access being subject to any restriction or specific formality or condition.
Relevant legislation
Law 3386/2005 does not stipulate that emergency medical treatment is a prerequisite for the access of illegal immigrant minors to health care.
Article 24, paragraph 1, of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child: «States Parties recognize the right of the child to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health and to facilities for the treatment of illness and rehabilitation of health. States Parties shall strive to ensure than no child is deprived of his or her right of access to such health care services».
